This poem is based on memory of an abusive PA/support worker to me, a learning disabled adult 20 years ago.

She started out acting sweet,

We worked together like a treat,

But then I saw behind the mask,

Was a harpie screaming every task.

One fight, I forget what it was about,

But the cat came in, staring her out,

It jumped up, and split the tension,

But I still couldn’t see all her intention.

I’d begun to see what this one would hide,

While pretending they was on my side,

Eventually though the abuse was clear,

Now she’s gone, the scars disappear.
